The Night of the Screams at Garabandal

The Night of the Screams was a mysterious event that occurred in the small village of Garabandal, Spain, on June 19, 1962. Four young girls, Conchita González, Mari Loli Mazon, Jacinta Gonzalez, and Mari Cruz Gonzalez, were the visionaries of the Virgin Mary in Garabandal.

On this night, the girls were praying the Rosary when they suddenly began to scream in terror. They said that they had seen a vision of hell and that the souls of the damned were screaming in pain.

The screams were so loud that they could be heard throughout the village. The people of Garabandal were terrified, and many of them came to the girls to ask what had happened. The girls told them about the vision of hell, and they warned them to change their lives and turn to God.

The Night of the Screams is one of the most controversial events in the history of the apparitions of Garabandal.

Some people believe that the girls were truly experiencing a vision of hell, while others believe that they were simply having a nightmare or that they were faking it.

About The Garabandal Apparitions

The tiny village where the Blessed Mother appeared, in an unprecedented way, is located in the Cantabrian Mountains in northwest Spain.  On June 18, 1961, four young girls, were playing on the outskirts of the village when they heard a thunderous sound.  In the blink of an eye, an angel appeared to them.

The angel spoke to the young girls over he next few days then suddenly announced that on the following day the Blessed Virgin would appear to them as Our Lady of Mt. Carmel.

At approximately 6:00 p.m., the children headed to the spot where the angel had  appeared to them.  The Blessed Virgin then appeared with an angel on either side. 

They immediately recognized one of the angels,  as St. Michael the Archangel.  Above Our Lady was a large eye that the girls thought to be the eye of God.  The four children spoke openly with Our Blessed Mother and said the rosary in her presence. Over the next year and a half, the Virgin Mary would appear hundreds of times- frequently appearing several times in a single day.

The Blessed Mother gave many beautiful messages to the young girls. She urged mankind to deepen their faith by putting the Eucharist in the first place in their lives. 

Our Lady said: “We must make many sacrifices, perform much penance, and visit the Blessed Sacrament frequently.  But first, we must lead good lives.”

But along with these important messages, Our Lady also astonished the world with certain prophecies that contained dramatic events for the world.  

The first event is known as The Warning. This will be a  worldwide sign from God to be seen and then felt interiorly by everyone on Earth. 

Today, this is understood to be the Illumination of conscience. At that moment we will see the wrong we’ve done and the good we failed to do.  The WARNING will be sent to correct the conscience of the world and prepare it for the Great Miracle.

The Great Miracle  will take place at the grove of pine trees on a bluff overlooking the village.  It will occur on  a Thursday evening at 8:30 on or between the eighth and the sixteenth of March, April, or May. The miracle will occur within 12 months after the Warning.

Next will be The Permanent Sign.   The permanent visible supernatural sign will appear  near the village and will remain until the end of time.

The permanent sign will be seen as visible proof of our Blessed Mother’s love for all humanity.

On September 14, 1965, Conchita said: “The sign that will remain forever will have never been seen before on earth, and is something we will be able to photograph, televise and see, but not touch. It will be evident that it is not a sign of this world but from God “

What will follow the arrival of the permanent sign will be a very difficult time for the world.
