Blessed Anna Caterina Emmerich: The Medjugorje Prophecy- “Madonna on the Hill Dressed in Armor”

Source: Fr. Livio’s Blog

Dearest Father Livio,

With this email I want to point out one of the various prophecies regarding the future of the Church made by Blessed Anna Caterina Emmerik and which seems to refer precisely to our days and in particular to the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Medjugorje…

Here is the prophecy: «Very bad times will come, in which non-Catholics will lead many people astray. I also saw the battle. The enemies were much more numerous, but the small army of faithful cut down entire rows [of enemy soldiers]. During the battle, Our Lady was standing on a hill, and she was wearing armor. It was a terrible war. In the end, only a few fighters for the just cause survived, but victory was theirs.”

(22 October 1822).

May it be an encouragement to all of us who have placed ourselves under the guidance and protection of the Most Holy Mary!

Hail Mary dear father Livio.

Dearest,

I had missed this detail of the prophecy of Blessed Emmerik, whose beatification was a gift from John Paul II now at the end of his Pontificate.

His prophecy regarding the two Popes has been much talked about following the resignation of Benedict XVI and the election of Pope Francis.

However, it cannot be ruled out that this prophecy concerns the near future of the Church which, according to the revelations of Our Lady in Fatima, will see persecution and apostasy.

This image of the Madonna on the hill leading her faithful into battle to victory is extraordinarily evocative.

In fact, Pobrdo is the privileged place that the Queen of Peace has chosen to begin her apparitions and which will be the place where she will leave the promised sign, which will last until the end of the world.

Already now Our Lady has chosen this place for her battles, as we saw in the days of the great Novena for peace, demonstrating how little she appreciates attempts to look for more comfortable and more convenient places.

“In the end, only a few fighters for the just cause survived, but the victory was theirs.” If we have to die, we might as well do it fighting for Our Lady who is guiding us in this battle.

Ave Maria
