The Great Deception: Secularization, Spiritual Blindness, and the Reign of Satan

Today’s world has staged a quiet rebellion: it has fundamentally rejected faith and turned its back on the Cross. The defining crisis of our era is not merely modernism’s intellectual denial of God and the supernatural. It is something far more dangerous.

By convincing humanity that neither God nor the devil exists, modern society has not eliminated spiritual warfare—it has simply surrendered its defenses. In reality, those who deny the devil’s existence are the very ones who have the most to fear from him.

The Trap of Widespread Atheism

Atheism does not solve the problem of evil; it merely leaves the soul entirely exposed to it. When dealing with an unbeliever, the adversary does not immediately reveal his hand. Instead, he operates in the shadows, gradually dragging the soul into compromise and moral decay without them ever realizing it.

Only after he has spiritually immobilized a person with his venom does he reveal himself for what he truly is: a master who has enslaved them.

The Shield of Faith: While believers are also fiercely attacked, active faith serves as a vital shield against the fiery arrows of the enemy. The devil cannot stand before the light of Jesus; as Christ advances, darkness is forced to retreat. When good is absent, evil naturally expands.

“Satan is Released From His Chains”

We are living through a historic paradox. At the exact moment that modern materialist and evolutionist ideologies claim to have outgrown the supernatural, the adversary is reigning supreme in human hearts.

This reality concerns our entire global culture. It aligns directly with the warnings given by the Queen of Peace in Medjugorje, who stated clearly on March 25, 2020, that “Satan reigns,” echoing her powerful January 1, 2001 message: “Satan is released from his chains.”

According to these prophetic warnings, our current era of extreme secularization mirrors the apocalyptic fulfillment of a unleashed adversary. By systematically removing God from public life, the secular world has inadvertently cleared the path for the enemy to claim dominion over human hearts.

The Mechanics of Spiritual Perversion

The descent into darkness is rarely sudden. Just as there is a gradual path to holiness guided by the Holy Spirit, there is a methodical path of perversion engineered by the adversary.

1. Erasing the Divine: The enemy first works to erase the innate idea of God rooted deep within every human mind.

2. Dulling the Intellect: Through materialist distractions, he renders the mind incapable of supernatural reasoning. The intellect stops looking upward and focuses strictly on temporary, material things.

3. Polluting the Heart: He forcefully enters the heart, sowing seeds of hatred, selfishness, wickedness, and pride. The world around us fiercely denies the existence of Satan, yet it is completely consumed and broken by the hatred he sows.

4. The Final Claim: Once a soul is entirely shaped in his image and trapped in sin, the adversary demands full submission and worship, transforming individuals into his active agents on earth—much like Judas. This state of final impenitence allows a soul to experience the isolation of hell while still on this earth.

The Time for a U-Turn is Now

The spiritual battlefield of our time requires an honest assessment of our own lives. We must look inward, conduct a brief examination of conscience, and ask ourselves: Which path am I currently walking?

If you look at your life and realize you have begun sliding down the slope of compromise, bitterness, or spiritual coldness, do not wait. Do not postpone your conversion.

Make a sharp, decisive U-turn back toward the light. Approach the Sacrament of Confession, open your heart fully to God, and ask for His mercy. The path of salvation is entirely open, but we must choose to walk it.
