New Museum INAUGURATED in Medjugorje : The new DIGITAL MUSEUM is called Naša Majka “Our Mother”
Medjugorje: Inauguration of the Digital Museum of Naša Majka ( Our Mother)
From Wednesday 20 April 2022 Medjugorje has become richer for a new cultural and artistic center. Namely, it is a modern digital museum called Naša Majka , which shows the history of this area and the story of the apparitions of Our Lady in Medjugorje.
All this historical material is shown through photographs and voice and video recordings. We could also describe it as Medjugorje in a few words. With the most innovative digital technology, holograms and video projections, visitors can learn about Brotnjo and the phenomenon of the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The author and architect of the entire project is Dario Kordić. Inside the museum there is also a picture gallery which houses works by local artists.
Within the newly built complex, there is a Gallery souvenir shop and a Piazza pizzeria bar. In front of the square, in the middle of a beautifully designed square, is the sculpture “HANDS”. The sculpture depicts the moment when Christ holds out his hand to the apostles during a storm, symbolizes the link between Heaven and earth and conveys the message: “Do not be afraid”! The author is the academic sculptor Josip Ivešić.
The gallery is located in Pope John Paul II, 22b Medjugorje.
For now, the Gallery’s working hours are every day from 9:00 to 21:00. Ticket prices are: for adults 6 E, for people of group 5 E, for children and young people 3 E. A visit to the group must be announced by telephone on 036 650 – 517, where all the necessary information can be obtained.
