Cardinal Pacelli and the “prophecy”
A message that is seen as a real prophecy, the one that Cardinal Pacelli, future Pope Pius XII , made public. Pacelli himself linked this prophecy to the message that the Blessed Virgin had given to Lucia of Fatima.
As Vatican Secretary of State, it was very likely that Cardinal Pacelli himself was aware of some information on the Third Secret of Fatima.
A prophecy that places at the center a real concern of the Cardinal precisely on the message of Fatima and on the possible dangers that threatened the Church. Dangers described by the Virgin herself and which the Church would soon have to face.
The possible destruction of the Church
Many were alarmed and wondered what could possibly destroy the universal Church. But Cardinal Pacelli’s reflection was very clear. Let’s read it together:
“ I am concerned about the message that the Blessed Virgin gave to Lucia of Fatima.
This insistence on the part of Mary on the dangers that threaten the Church is a divine warning against suicide to alter the Faith, in Her liturgy, Her theology and Her soul.
I feel all around me these innovators who wish to dismantle the Sacred Chapel, destroy the universal flame of the Church, reject its ornaments and make it feel guilty for its historical past.

Pacelli: “The civilized world will deny God”
There will come a day when the civilized world will deny its God , when the Church will doubt as Peter doubted. She will then be tempted to believe that man has become God …
In our churches, Christians will look in vain for the red lamp where God awaits them. Like Mary Magdalene, in tears before the empty tomb, they will ask themselves: “Where did they take him?” .
Strong words that lead us to reflect like Cardinal Pacelli at the time.

“… A divine warning against suicide to alter the Faith, in Her liturgy, Her theology and Her soul.” How strange that the former Cardinal Pacelli was himself responsible as Pope for initiating the programme of liturgical alteration which has afflicted the Latin Church over the past seven decades.
