The Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary in the Time of the Medjugorje Secrets

In the month of June, the Church celebrates the feast of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary. On January 1, 2001, in a special message on Podbrdo, Our Lady said: ” Especially now, when Satan is freed from his chains, I invite you to consecrate yourselves to my Heart and to the Heart of my Son .” There is an explicit invitation to the consecration of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

The interconnection of these two Hearts must be emphasized. We are accustomed to celebrating the Sacred Heart of Jesus separately on Friday and the Immaculate Heart of Mary on Saturday. However, a spiritual current has long been developing in France, uniting the consecration to the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary as a single consecration. According to classical theology, we reach the Heart of Jesus through the Heart of Mary: ad Jesum per Mariam . This implies that our consecration occurs together. Therefore, Our Lady seems to have supported this current of spirituality, in which the two Sacred Hearts are united. Precisely because Satan is freed from his chains, in a particular period of salvation where the devil is attempting his most forceful attack on the work of Redemption, seeking to destroy the faith, the Church, and the world, Mary asks us to consecrate ourselves to both Hearts.

The very dynamics of salvation history involve two spiritual battles. The first is between the Woman Clothed with the Sun and the great red dragon, Satan. After the time of peace, there will be a second spiritual battle, Satan’s final assault on the work of redemption and Creation. This will be carried out directly by the devil, and Jesus will come in person to defeat Satan, with His Most Sacred Heart. The first, however, will be fought at the hands of the two beasts, absolute human power and false religion.

The union of the two Hearts corresponds to the two great spiritual battles in the history of salvation into which we have entered. This close connection of the two hearts occurs within the apocalyptic context, which is divided into three parts: the first spiritual battle; the time of peace; and the final spiritual battle.

The word “consecration” is dense and means so many things. It means loving Christ above all else, opening oneself totally to his love, making Jesus the goal and purpose of our lives. Saint John Paul II, however, gave another expression that perhaps we can better understand: entrustment . It means entrusting one’s life, one’s heart, one’s pains, fears, weaknesses, and sins, to the Sacred Heart of Mary who offers it to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. In the word entrustment, we understand the term consecration, which means belonging totally to Christ.

The first spiritual battle is a time in which Satan is released from his chains, that is, he displays all his power of seduction. In the Message of March 18, 2026, Our Lady expressed a chilling triad: ” False happiness, false hope, false splendor .” False happiness is the material happiness that satisfies our deadly sins, which the world gives us and then poisons us. Worldly happiness is all false and does not last forever. False splendor is that kind of life where it seems that wealth, honor, and glory are everything. In reality, it is people themselves who exchange glory for one another. It is a splendor that does not illuminate. False hope, on the other hand, makes us believe we are happy. The false lights, attractions, and glories to which we are so sensitive are all small deceptions that do not satisfy us and do not fulfill our lives. After being seduced by evil, we must remember the bitterness within us, the shame, the prostration. Whenever Satan proposes such seductions to us, we must be able to reject him. It is difficult to renounce seduction without the love of God, because if we have tasted God’s love, it gives us joy and fulfillment. We will no longer be deceived by false lights and glories.

We must train ourselves to savor the true joys, hopes, and happiness that God gives us within. The moment we come into contact with God, we understand his greatness, his love, his beauty, his joy, his love for us; we see that he is a treasure that all the gold in the world could not equal. If men of power do not have God, they will end up in the black hole of eternal damnation where Satan dwells. Those who have truly had everything in life are those who are poor, but have found God, have been nourished by his love, his wisdom, his goodness, and are happy creatures.

How can we resist the seductive power of evil? By nourishing ourselves with God’s love daily. At the same time, when the time comes when we Christians will be despised, undervalued, mocked, and persecuted, we will resist with the love of Jesus and Mary, of which we are certain and which we will experience in our hearts. We will be able to endure the persecutions of the laws and the wickedness of the world, offering them to God in atonement for our sins and those of others. God’s love is the strength that enables us to overcome the seduction and oppression of evil. This love must enter our hearts, conquer them, and grow ever stronger, cultivating it day and night. By finding drops of God’s love, we feel a fullness of eternity and joy toward which we will always strive, renouncing all the vain seductions the world offers us.

This is the commitment that the month of June requires: to draw from God’s love through the Hearts of Jesus and Mary, purifying ourselves from worldliness, which is a false veneer that makes us beautiful, but rotten and mediocre inside. If we want to belong to God, let us cultivate prayer, love, the Commandments, a simple, joyful life, kindness toward others; let us cultivate God’s love in all its forms, so that we can pass unscathed through the valley of tribulation that is this life.
