The Missionary Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe Will be Processed in the Opening Night Procession at the National Eucharistic Congress
Belief in the Eucharist has declined to a startling low and only about 30% of Catholics believe in Jesus’ Real Presence in the Eucharist, according to a recent Pew study.
The U.S. Bishops decided to take action and, in response to the leading of the Holy Spirit, launched the National Eucharistic Revival.
As part of the National Eucharistic Revival, there will be the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage May 17-July 16, 2024.
As part of the National Eucharistic Revival, there will also be the National Eucharistic Congress, which will take place July 17–21, 2024, in Indianapolis. The Missionary Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe has been invited to be processed in the Opening Night Procession at the Congress.
The Congress is more than a conference, however – it is the Church’s moment within the movement of the Revival. This is our opportunity to reignite Eucharistic faith in the United States. Will you be a part of it?
The National Eucharistic Revival is a movement to restore understanding and devotion to this great mystery here in the United States by helping us renew our worship of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist.
He desires to heal, renew, and unify the Church and the world. How will He do it? By uniting us once again around the source and summit of our faith in the celebration of the Eucharist. The National Eucharistic Revival is the joyful, expectant, grassroots response of the entire Catholic Church in the U.S. to this divine invitation.
This is a pivotal moment in both American history and the legacy of the Catholic Church. At this historic event, tens of thousands of Catholics of all ages will gather in Indianapolis to worship our Risen Lord in His real presence in the blessed sacrament.
The Holy Spirit will light a missionary fire in the heart of our nation as we reconsecrate ourselves to the source and summit of our faith. Participants will then be sent out on mission “for the life of the world.”
God wants to do something NEW in the Church

Jesus is Really Present in the Eucharist
“In the most blessed sacrament of the Eucharist the body and blood, together with the soul and divinity, of our Lord Jesus Christ and, therefore, the whole Christ is truly, really, and substantially contained.” “This presence is called ‘real’ – by which is not intended to exclude the other types of presence as if they could not be ‘real’ too, but because it is presence in the fullest sense: that is to say, it is a substantial presence by which Christ, God and man, makes himself wholly and entirely present.” (Catholic Catechism 1374).
“It is by the conversion of the bread and wine into Christ’s body and blood that Christ becomes present in this sacrament.” (Catholic Catechism 1375). 5 Times Jesus Revealed Himself in the Eucharist to Non-Catholics. Read about it HERE.
The National Eucharistic Procession
The National Eucharistic Procession will begin on May 17 when Catholic faithful will kick off four historic and unprecedented pilgrimages, each originating from one of the four compass points of our country.
Together, they will travel more than 6,500 miles, with more than 100,000 participants, converging on the National Eucharistic Congress in Indianapolis July 17-21 — the first congress in 83 years.
The Missionary Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, with a relic of St. Juan Diego, will be a part of the Opening Night Procession at the National Eucharistic Congress.
Following the Opening Night Procession, there will be adoration of the blessed sacrament and the Image will be in the sanctuary area, on the main stage, and will be present for all of the main events in Lucas Oil Stadium throughout the Congress.
The Image will also be in the sanctuary area for the closing Mass which will include over 170 bishops, 1000 priests, and seminarians, and religious.
Processions give public witness of our faith that Jesus Christ, through the intercession and mediation of Our Lady of Guadalupe, will bring the victory over our Culture of Death and bring us to a Culture of Life and a Civilization of Love, for which St. John Paul II often prayed.
