My recent visit to Medjugorje
From Monday 6 till Tuesday 14 March 2023 I had the grace of visiting Medjugorje for my 12 time. Medjugorje is place that one needs to visit over and over again. The graces attached to this place, chosen purposely by Mary, Our Heavenly Mother, are simply incredible.
It is hard for me to detail every grace that I received here from God the Father, through the Son, in the Holy Spirit, from the hands of Mary Queen of Peace. However, as soon as the Lord gave me the grace to arrive to Medjugorje from Split I felt a great peace which flooded my spirit. I simply knew that I was on holy ground.
As I started to thread on that holy ground immediately came into my heart the holy words the Lord God spoke to Moses when he told him: Do not come near; put off your shoes from your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground (Exod 3:5). It is so interesting that Moses encountered the Lord on the Horeb, the mountain of God (Exod 1:1). Moses was simply leading the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro (Exod 1:1). It is amazing how, as the story of unfolds, Moses ended up being led by the Lord Himself! And where? On the mountain Horeb, which is a Jewish word that comes from the noun חרב (horeb), meaning dryness or desolation. Having said that it was from this dryness and desolation that Moses was to receive life, direction and his mission!
Me too, in Medjugorje, which literally means between mountains, I was to experience that Jesus Christ is my life! That Mary, Jesus’ Mother and My Mother in Heaven, is the one who leads me to Him. She is, in all effects, the Mother of divine grace, as the Litany of Loreto rightly calls her. Medjugorje reminded me that no matter the spiritual dryness, desolation and my sins, I can experience what St Paul writes in his letter to the Romans: Where sin increased, grace abounded all the more (Rom 5:20). That is why the Sacrament of confession, the Mass, Fasting, the Reading of the Bible and Prayer with the Heart, particularly the Rosary, and I would add the Divine Mercy Chaplet, are so important in to undertake the path of conversion which is translated into simple charitable deeds done out of great love.
All this informs me how Our Lady is right when she tells us in her message of May 25, 1991:
I am here, dear children, to help you and to lead you to heaven, and in heaven is the joy through which you can already live heaven now.
Yes! Medjugorje taught me that I can live Heaven here, from this world, from my present life situation, NOW! Is it not worth it, wise and fruitful to visit Medjugorje regularly?
