The New Pentecost and the Renewal of All Creation

Sunday, May 23 is Pentecost Sunday. On the first Pentecost, nine days after Jesus had ascended into heaven, Mary and the apostles were gathered in prayer in the cenacle, the upper room of the Last Supper. Suddenly a sound came from heaven like the rush of a mighty wind that filled the house and tongues as of fire appeared and rested on each of one of them. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

At the sound of the wind, a multitude of Jews from many nations who spoke many languages gathered outside. The timid apostles were transformed, boldly came out and courageously preached to the Jews as the Spirit led them. All of the Jews miraculously understood them in their own native language.

When they heard Peter’s preaching, they were cut to the heart and asked, “Brethren, what shall we do?” Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” About 3000 received his word and were baptized that very day. (See Acts 1–2).

We should hope and pray that the New Pentecost will be even more powerful and miraculous. May the Holy Spirit pour himself out to bring millions of sinners to repentance and salvation.
 
On December 25th, 1961, at the convocation of the Second Vatican Council, Pope John XXIII prayed to the Holy Spirit, “Divine Spirit, renew your wonders in this our age as in a New Pentecost, and grant that your Church, praying perseveringly and insistently with one heart and mind together with Mary, the Mother of Jesus, and guided by blessed Peter, may increase the Reign of the Divine Savior, the Reign of truth and justice, the Reign of love and peace. Amen.”
 
In 1992, in Latin America, St. John Paul II said, “Be open to Christ, welcome the Spirit, so that a New Pentecost may take place in every community! A new humanity, a joyful one, will arise from your midst; you will experience again the saving power of the Lord.”
 
In April 19, 2008 in a homily in New York City, Pope Benedict XVI said, “Let us implore from God the grace of a New Pentecost…. May tongues of fire, combining burning love of God and neighbor with zeal for the spread of Christ’s Kingdom, descend on all present! “
 
Later, on July 20, 2008, in his homily at World Youth Day in Sydney Australia, Pope Benedict XVI, said that the power of the Holy Spirit can create a new world and a new era. He said,

The power of the Holy Spirit does not only enlighten and console us. It also points us to the future, to the coming of God’s Kingdom. …This power can create a new world: it can “renew the face of the earth” (cf. Ps 104:30)! Empowered by the Spirit, and drawing upon faith’s rich vision, a new generation of Christians is being called to help build a world in which God’s gift of life is welcomed, respected and cherished – not rejected, feared as a threat and destroyed.  A new age in which love is not greedy or self-seeking, but pure, faithful and genuinely free, open to others, respectful of their dignity, seeking their good, radiating joy and beauty. A new age in which hope liberates us from the shallowness, apathy and self-absorption which deaden our souls and poison our relationships.

Dear young friends, the Lord is asking you to be prophets of this new age, messengers of his love, drawing people to the Father and building a future of hope for all humanity.

On October 8, 2013, Jesus King of All Nations said,

My Spirit shall once more descend in a New Pentecost; a New Pentecost replete with the cleansing fire of his love. A fire ablaze with the love and justice of God. “I will pour out my spirit.” (Isaiah 44:3).

Then shall the earth emerge cleansed from the defilement of sin and souls shall rejoice as they bathe anew in the copious mercy of God. Light shall spread throughout the world which is at present in a great darkness. Even consciences are in complete darkness.

“For those deserved to be deprived of light and imprisoned by darkness, who had kept your sons confined through whom the imperishable light of the Law was to be given to the world.” (Wisdom 18:4).
O how I wish that they were upright and filled with Divine Light! Hold fast my faithful ones. Remain strong in the Holy Faith.” (Journal 496–500).

Jesus told Elizabeth Kindelmann,

The Spirit of Pentecost will flood the earth with his power and a great miracle will gain the attention of all humanity. This will be the effect of grace of the Flame of Love [which is Jesus Christ himself].

Due to a lack of faith, earth is entering into darkness, but earth will experience a great jolt of faith. People will believe and will create a new world. By the Flame of Love, confidence and faith will take root. The face of the earth will be renewed because “something like this has not happened since the Word became flesh.” Earth, although flooded with sufferings, will be renewed by Our Lady’s intercession. The New Pentecost will come as a burning fire of love, given by the Holy Spirit so that Jesus King of All Nations will be glorified in a new creation with the restoration of his Kingdom of love, peace, and joy. So, let us pray,

Come, Holy Spirit, and Glorify Jesus King of All Nations. Come by means of the powerful intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, your well-beloved spouse!
