“Various nations will be destroyed”: is this prophecy for now?
Dear Father Livio, I would like to start by saying that I have been following Radio Maria since 1986, that is, since I was 19 years old; I grew up in the company of this sweet radio, always hating the noise of TV and the world.
And I hope with all my heart that throughout the time of the 10 secrets her voice will always accompany us, because who else can competently comment on the words of the Queen of Peace?
With this letter I would like to highlight a phrase from the secret of Fatima where Our Lady prophesies that “various nations will be destroyed”.
In an interview you asked Marija if Satan wants to destroy the earth with the use of nuclear weapons, and I remember that Marija responded by saying: “the earth can be destroyed in many ways”. She said it categorically, determined to end the discussion there.
So I ask myself: when Our Lady speaks of “destroyed nations” is she referring to their political, cultural and social identity or does she mean to say that they will be physically destroyed?
And in this second case, will it be the ocean that destroys them, i.e. natural causes, as John Paul II said, or even atomic bombs?
Before our eyes is Russia’s attempt to destroy Ukraine by depriving it of all vital infrastructure, and Hamas’ murderous rampage against Israel. Two examples in which the physical death and material destruction of a nation is sought.
Other prophecies you mentioned speak of a great war that will cause the death of two thirds of humanity; How then can we not deduce that Our Lady of Fatima is speaking precisely of a material destruction of various nations?
I still wonder, will what happens in Medjugorje with the first and second secrets be a small-scale warning of what will happen elsewhere in a more terrible form?

the secrets of Medjugorje are a serious matter, despite the declarations of the visionaries which they often downplay because they have the understandable fear of scaring people. In this regard, we must evaluate the words that the “Gospa” said to them, who came to save humanity from events that would destroy it.
Our Lady, in delivering the scroll of secrets to Mirjana, said: “Mirjana, I have chosen you. I told you everything essential. I have also shown you many terrible things. Now you have to bear everything with courage. Think of me and the tears I have to shed for this.”
The many terrible things that Our Lady showed to the visionaries are largely indicated in the second secret of Fatima, a prophecy that will be fully realized in the secrets of Medjugorje.
The prophecy of Fatima does not allow one to sleep peacefully because it indicates a very specific actor: Russia, which has in fact been on the world stage for over a century.
Applying the prophecy of Fatima to the time of the secrets of Medjugorje, what should we conclude? That Russia in the time of secrets “will spread its errors throughout the world, promoting wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred, the Holy Father will have much to suffer, various nations will be destroyed.”
All this began in its decisive phase on February 24, 2022, when Russian Orthodox imperialism invaded Ukraine, starting a war that will bring destruction and death to various parts of the world.
In this regard, it is useful to meditate on the message given by Our Lady the day after the invasion, which is perhaps the most dramatic of all those that have been given up to now:
”Dear children! I am with you and we pray together. Little children, help me with prayer so that Satan does not prevail. His power of death, hatred and fear has visited the Earth. Therefore, children, return to God, to prayer, to fasting and to renunciation for all those who are downtrodden, poor and have no voice in this world without God.”
The invader is identified with Satan, who took the field to destroy the earth. The scenario is global and the forces at play are primarily that of hell. The Madonna calls her to gather “so that Satan does not prevail”.
It is in this context that Russia will spread its lies with its enormous power of disinformation and falsification; she will promote wars, as now in the Middle East; it will destroy nations, as it is now doing with Ukraine; she will persecute the Church, as she will do wherever she manages to extend her power; “The Holy Father will have a lot to suffer”: Locked up in the Vatican? Exiled to Siberia? Shot in St. Peter’s Square?
In the end, however, Russia will convert by grace after, in the time of secrets, its ruling class will be swallowed up in the abyss, together with all the others, complicit in the project of putting themselves in the place of Christ.
Our Lady has everything in her hands, she reiterated it from the beginning: “All the secrets that I have confided to you will come true and even the visible sign will manifest itself” . Stopping the Madonna or misleading Medjugorje is a dangerous illusion, cultivated in vain since its origins.
All we have to do is take God’s Envoy seriously. It is unforgivable naivety to think that nothing will happen because we don’t believe in her.
Rather, we ask God for the grace of a humble and contrite heart.
