Catholic Media Missing in Action
Pope John Paul II “Medjugorje is the spiritual heart of the world”
Vatican Medjugorje investigation concludes Apparitions “Supernatural in nature”
Pope Francis says “Go to Medjugorje; spread the good news.”
Pope Francis: “A commission of good theologians, bishops, cardinals. Good, good, good. The Ruini report is very, very good. It is well known that the signal emerged from the Pontiff’s words is positive about the spiritual fruits and the conversions”
Papal Envoy to Medjugorje: “You can say to the whole world that there is a light with Medjugorje and We need these spots of light in the world that is going down to darkness.”
These are just a few example of important news events that have been sadly ignored by Catholic media.
If we are to believe American Catholic media there is a colossal crisis of faith among young people. Yet, despite all the gloom and doom talk about the future of the Catholic Church those tasked with reinvigorating the Catholic faith ignore perhaps the largest Catholic youth festival of 2017. A few short months ago it may have been understandable that pundits and media would timidly hide behind a Vatican proclamation that Medjugorje events could not be publicized in a manner that would suggest its authenticity. But that whole business of restrictions on Medjugorje is no longer valid after the Ruini Investigation Committee publicized its positive findings. Here are four news events largely ignored by media that would support more balanced coverage of Medjugorje
- Cardinal Mueller, who issued the restrictions on Medjugorje is no longer the head of the Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith
- More importantly, the Vatican’s own Papal envoy said: “You can say to the whole world that there is a light with Medjugorje. So friends, be carriers of this joyful news.
- The Vatican commission on Medjugorje voted overwhelmingly to allow official diocesan sponsored trips to Medjugorje. The ban on parish pilgrimages will be lifted.
- Vatican Committee voted overwhelmingly to recognize the early apparitions at Medjugorje as supernatural in nature
Despite Catholic media’s silence on the important occasion of the Medjugorje Youth Festival, Mystic Post is happy to support the joyful news of the Medjugorje Youth Festival.

I’ve been enjoying Mystic Posts for several years now. Today, when so much seems to be going wrong in the world, Mystic Post is working hard to provide truthful Catholic news. I want to support that Robb R. UK
I appreciate there not being a paywall: it is more democratic for the media to be available for all and not a commodity to be purchased by a few. I’m happy to make a contribution so others with less means still have access to information. Annonymous Donator
