VISIONARY CONCHITA – GARABANDAL: THE TIME OF THE MIRACLE HAS BEEN DECLARED

Conchita González is one of the four visionaries of Garabandal, a small village in the north of Spain where Marian apparitions were reported to have taken place between 1961 and 1965. Conchita is the only visionary who claims to have received messages from the Virgin Mary, who she says identified herself as “Our Lady of Mount Carmel.”

According to Conchita, the Virgin Mary gave her three messages during the apparitions:

• The first message, given on June 18, 1961, was a warning:

“We must make many sacrifices, perform much penance, and visit the Blessed Sacrament frequently. But first, we must lead good lives. If we do not, a chastisement will befall us. The cup is already filling up, and if we do not change, a very great chastisement will come upon us.”

• The second message, given on July 18, 1961, was a call to repentance:

“The cross is coming. We must stay united to Jesus Christ. We must not go back on our promises to God. We must make many sacrifices. We must pray very much.”

• The third message, given on September 18, 1961, was a promise of a miracle:

“There will be a miracle, visible to all the world, in Garabandal. Before the miracle, there will be a warning to the world. The warning will be like a chastisement, but it will not come from God. It will come from the devil. It will be a great terror for the world. After the warning, there will be a miracle in Garabandal. The miracle will come to confirm the messages we have received.”

Conchita also claims to have received a number of other messages from the Virgin Mary, including prophecies about the future of the world and the Church. For example, she says that the Virgin Mary told her that there would be a great apostasy within the Church, and that a new pope would be elected who would be “very holy.”

The apparitions at Garabandal have not been officially approved by the Catholic Church. However, many people believe that Conchita and the other visionaries are telling the truth. They point to the fact that the visionaries remained consistent in their stories, even under pressure from the Church and the media. They also point to the fact that Conchita and the other visionaries have lived holy and exemplary lives.

Whether or not the apparitions at Garabandal are authentic, Conchita’s messages are still relevant today. They are a call to repentance, conversion, and prayer. They are also a reminder that the Virgin Mary is always with us, and that she intercedes for us on our behalf.
