Medjugorje. A 10 year old boy from Guatemala: “I’ll explain to you why I’m fasting on Wednesdays and Fridays” Read This Today And You Will Learn To Find Joy In Your Prayer For the Night
A multitude of pilgrims from all over the world are daily on pilgrimage to Medjugorje. Each of them has his life story, a thank you to do and a prayer on his lips.
The journalists of Radio “Mir” Medjugorje have had in these days an opportunity to talk with the ten-year-old little Nicolas Liarena, who came here from Guatemala with his parents. He shared his experience of faith with them, clarifying why he prefers to pray more than to play and what his thoughts are about Medjugorje:
“Like many before us, we came to Medjugorje because he called us Our Lady, and for us, being in this holy land is a wonderful experience. I wanted to come here in the desire to convert and to be closer to Jesus and to Mary. I love being here, because I’m spending these days with Our Lady. For me, climbing into prayer on the Apparition Hill was wonderful. I wanted to go up there barefoot, to make a sacrifice too. Praying and making that sacrifice was so fun! Rather than playing, I prefer to pray because it is the best thing for my soul. I am happier to spend time with my Heavenly Father than to play. When I pray, I feel that all of Heaven is with me.
The most important thing in my life is to meditate on my Jesus, who endured so many sacrifices for us. I console him by praying. The moment I love most is when all our family meets, and we pray together. I fast on Wednesdays and Fridays and try to sacrifice myself in the things I love most, because I know that this pleases God. Therefore, I love spending more time praying than playing. As I ascended the Apparition Hill, I felt that Our Lady was walking with me and, once I reached the top, I felt that Jesus was waiting for me too. Then I presented to him in prayer all those who sin. Our Lady has obtained a special gift for me to understand what she wants to tell me and to do what she asks, so that we can save the world with others “.
