Medjugorje Today January 22, 2021 – Special Message from Vatican Envoy of Medjugorje to the American people: “We must live this time of trial, and we must read what we are experiencing as a “sign of the times”.
MESSAGE TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE FROM MEDJUGORJE FROM ARCHBISHOP HOSER IN THE TIME OF TRIAL
Dear American people, I am addressing you from Medjugorje, from this place that you like, that you often visit in normal times.
Therefore, we are living in difficult times, not only in you, in the United States, not only in the world, due to the pandemic, but also in Medjugorje, due to the lack of pilgrims who come from all over the world, assigned to a health regime that stop. Mobility is lacking in the world.
And therefore, here, as you know, we venerate the Holy Virgin, Queen of Peace. And this peace we want to proclaim to all of you that you are close and that you are far away.
The time we live in can be compared to a very serious event, which is reported in the Gospel. After the death of the Lord the world remained immersed in darkness, as the evangelists tell us. And then, when the Christ Jesus, the son of God, the son of Man, who was sent to save us, dies in human hearts, here they are filled with darkness, and so too the world that caused the death of Jesus. in their life, he fell into darkness.
We must live this time of trial, and we must read what we are experiencing as a “sign of the times”.
God who is the teacher of history, who is the teacher of our present life, wants to give us signs to interpret. This sign tells us: “Without me you can do nothing”. And therefore we must attach ourselves to his presence in us and around us, to dispel the darkness, to go towards the light. He brings us the light. As the canticle of Zechariah says, He is the sun that comes from above. And we need this sun so much today.
This is therefore my message which I am giving you, so that you may intelligently experience your situation in the United States as an intelligence of the heart. I want to formulate a perspective: if the United States promises and plans its life towards the development and protection of human life in all stages of existence, it will save itself. If politics pushes you towards the denial of human life, all this will contribute to increasing this darkness that frightens us.
And therefore, we are teachers of witness to proclaim in the world the hope that comes from God. Hope. Because God comes to us from the future. He awaits us in the time to come, and he no longer awaits us from history. And we go towards him to live what he has offered us, to know peace with God and peace with all men. Starting from those who are closest to us, up to those who are far from us.
And therefore, this time in which we await the best times, strengthen you in fidelity and in the courage to go through the difficult moments of life. And may the Holy Virgin Mary, Queen of Peace, bless and protect you and love you without limits.
