Recently in Buenos Aires, the former diocese of Pope Francis, Patricia delivered a keynote address to more than 150,000 men, women, and children participating in Argentina’s 2018 “Great Rally for Life.” It is worthy to note that only three thousand were expected to attend.
“Save Them Both” (the mother and the child) was the theme of the event, which has been celebrated annually for 20 years as their National Day of the Unborn Child. This day is intentionally commemorated on March 25, the Feast of the Annunciation, when Catholics honor Mary’s “yes” to becoming the Mother of God. Ms. Sandoval was also a voice for the voiceless, sharing her story in the company of twenty-six congressmen at La Casa Rosada, the executive office of the President of Argentina, as part of an exclusive debate to defend the sanctity of life and bolster opposition to a congressional bill to legalize elective abortion in Argentina for the first time.
Before Ms. Sandoval testified and government officials viewed a film of an actual abortion, the majority of the debate panel was pro-choice or undecided. At the end of the day, with the exception of one female member, the entire panel of officials was discussing how to prevent abortion from being legalized Argentina.
Ms. Sandoval’s testimony is believed to have swayed the conscience of the predominantly pro-choice nation to one that may now be predominantly poised to stand for the sanctity of life. With God, it is possible that the courageous testimony of a humble and contrite, three-time post abortive mother was instrumental in the conversion of an entire nation.
