VIRAL FOLK HERO OLIVER ANTHONY WARNS OF WORLD WAR III BECAUSE “WE DON’T PRAY NO MORE”…
Viral Folk Hero Oliver Anthony has just released a brand new song and it’s already taking the internet like a tsunami.
On YouTube, the song is called “I Want to Go Home” and the lyrics draw a world of an alienated, hard-working man of God, trying to make sense of a world on the brink of World War III.
The lyrics are skilled, simple, and powerful: “We’re on the brink of the next World War / and I don’t think nobody’s praying no more … Every damn day is always some kind of bill to pay / People just doing what the rich man say.”
Later he sings “People have really gone and lost their way / They all just do what the TVs say.”
The Virginia musician, identified by his famous red beard, arrived from obscurity to take the top position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with a track he recorded during his time in the American wilderness called “Rich Men North of Richmond.”
Since August 8, the song has amassed over 33 million views on YouTube and has gained the attention from news sources across the spectrum of media with left-wing outlets often smearing him and misrepresenting his lyrics.
The video’s description stated that the song aimed to inspire the working class and young individuals who might have lost faith in the struggle to make ends meet. As a result, it has widely been embraced as a representation of populist values throughout the United States
Anthony exclusively told Billboard, “The hopelessness and frustration of our times resonate in the response to this song. The song itself is not anything special, but the people who have supported it are incredible and deserve to be heard.”
“I Want To Go Home”
Well, if it won’t for my old dogs and the good Lord
They’d have me strung up in the psych ward
‘Cause every day livin’ in this new world
Is one too many days to me
Son, we’re on the brink of the next world war
And I don’t think nobody’s prayin’ no more
And I ain’t sayin I know it for sure
I’m just down on my knees
Beggin’, Lord, take me home
I wanna go home
I don’t know which road to go
It’s been so long
I just know I didn’t used to wake up feelin’ this way
Cussin’ myself every damn day
There’s always some kind of bill to pay
People just doin’ what the rich men say
I wanna go home
Now four generations farmin’ the ground
Grandson sells it to a man out of town
And two weeks later the trees go down
Only got concrete growin’ around
And I wanna go home
I wanna go home
I don’t know which road to go
It’s been so long
I just know I didn’t used to wake up feelin’ this way
Cussin’ myself every damn day
People have really gone and lost their way
They all just do what the TV say
I wanna go home
If it won’t for my old dogs and the good Lord
They’d have me strung up in the psych ward
