Medjugorje: When Jacov’s Mom Could Not Find Her Son Because He Was in Heaven

In 1981, the visionaries all lived in the same district of Bijakovici, at the foot of Podbrdo. One afternoon Jakov and his cousin Vicka had escaped general surveillance from the police with one of their tricks, returned from Citluk and decided to go to the house where Jakov lived because they were hungry. Jakov’s mother, Jaka, was extremely poor and lived in two tiny rooms, without running water, in the characteristic discomfort of Medjugorje preceding the apparitions of Our Lady.

Vicka and Jakov arrived home breathless and told Jaka that they were hungry. Then they went into another room to talk together, while Jaka prepared them a small frugal snack: after ten minutes she called them … no answer! 

It was exactly 15.20 when Jaka enters the other room … no one was there! The blood goes to her head, because it was impossible for them to come out of the room without having seen them pass. 

She had a good recollection of every minute passed after their arrival. It is incomprehensible … they should be there! She had just heard them talking a little while ago. An abyss of anguish took hold of her. The militia she thought had taken them, but no, how could they get them without going through the kitchen?  Jaka stormes out of the house scared and finds Ivan’s mother coming down the path. “Did not you see Jakov and Vicka?” “No!-

She goes up the path and interrogates the other neighbors, she arrives at Vicka’s parents. – No … – answers. Zlata, Vicka’s mother, shaking her head. Immediately the word spreads that Jakov and Vicka have disappeared and hearts clench with anguish because the inhabitants of Bijakovici consider the seers as their children. The minutes pass, the visionaries have literally disappeared. Vikia’s mother falls into a tragic state.

Jaka returns to her home in a desperate state.  She turns into the kitchen, then to the empty room, where they were last seen in the absurd hope of finding them safe and hoping that she would wake up from the nightmare. 

But still there’s nobody! She removes the two now cold plates of food, arranges the old casserole, while in hrs mind the worst scenes that a mother’s imagination can conceive pass quickly.

She goes outside to sit under the tree near her home. From there she will be able to see who comes and goee … When suddenly she seems to hears a noise at 15.50, She does not believe her ears. She goes back into the house! – “Are you there Jakov?”

Jakov jumps out all happy and cries to his mother: – “Mom, Mom! We went to Heaven! We have seen Heaven! – The sky?!!”  Jaka says: “No, it’s not possible! I can not believe you went to Heaven. Jakov, tell us the truth…”

Jakov: “The Gospa (Madonna) came and took us me and Vicka, go and ask her, she will tell you” – Vicka does not have to pray twice to tell about her journey in the afterlife. Vicka: “The Gospa came into the bedroom while you prepared breakfast in the kitchen. Our Lady said she was going to take us to to see paradise, purgatory and hell. This surprised us very much.” You’re taking Vicka with you,” Jakov told her. At first, we were afraid because we doubted that we could come back alive from such an expedition! But in the end, seeing that the Gospa’s desire was to take us with her, we accepted.  As soon as we said yes, the roof opened and we found ourselves up there! – The Gospa took Jakov with his left hand and me with his right hand and we left. First she showed us heaven. – then we entered the door. –

A normal door! We saw St. Peter near the door and the Gospa opened the door …

Saint Peter? How it was?!  He was like on earth. About sixty, seventy years, not very tall but not even small, with gray hair, a little ‘curly, quite stocky … – Then the Gospa opened the door by herself without a key. She told me it was St. Peter’s. He did not say anything, we just said goodbye.”

Vicka then describes the scene of Heaven as if she were talking about a normal walk.  “Heaven is a large space without limits. There is a light that does not exist on earth. I have seen so many people and everyone is very happy. They sing, dance … communicate with each other in a way that is unthinkable to us. They know each other intimately. They are dressed in long tunics and I have noticed three different colors. But these colors are not like those of the earth. They look like yellow, gray and red. There are also angels with them. The Gospa explained everything to us. “See how happy they are. Nothing is missing from them. There are no words to describe the happiness that the blessed live in heaven? – I also felt this happiness of the elect.  I did not want to come back to earth, but our greatest happiness is to make the Gospa happy. We know that she wants to keep us on earth for some time to bring his messages. It is a great joy to share his messages! As long as she needs me, I’m ready!  Whenever she wants to take me with her, I’ll be ready anyway! It’s her project, not mine.

After heaven, the Gospa brought us to see purgatory. It is a very dark place and we could not see anything because it was like a gray smoke, very often the color of ash. We felt that there were a lot of people but we could not see the faces because of this smoke. But we could hear the moans and shouts. They are very numerous and suffer a lot. We also felt some kind of shocks, as if people were colliding.

The Gospa told us: “See how these people suffer! They are waiting for your prayers to go to heaven “. After purgatory – continues Vicka – the Gospa showed us hell. It’s a terrible place. In the middle there is a great fire, but not like what we know on earth. We have seen absolutely normal people, like those who meet on the street, who threw themselves into that fire. When they came out they resembled fierce beasts that screamed their hatred and their rebellion and swore … It was hard to believe they were human beings, they were so disfigured, changed … Before this show we were scared and we did not understand how such a horrible thing could happen to those people. Fortunately, the presence of the Gospa reassured us. We also saw a very beautiful girl throw herself into the fire: afterwards she looked like a monster. The Gospa then explained what we had seen and told us: – Those people went to hell of his will. It is their choice, their decision. Do not be afraid! God has given everyone freedom. On earth everyone can decide for God or against God. Certain people on earth always do everything against God, against his will, fully aware: so hell begins in their hearts; when the moment of death comes, if they do not repent, it is the same hell that continues. – Gospa – we asked you then – will these people, one day, be able to get out of hell? – Hell will not end, those who are there do not want to receive anything from God, they have freely chosen to be far from God, forever! God does not want to force anyone to love him. – So I ask Vicka: – If God has a good heart, does not it matter to let his children get so lost, forever?Why does not he put a barrier in front of hell, for example, or why he does not take in his arms all those who are preparing to throw themselves into the fire to convince them to go with him instead of Satan? – But God does everything to save us! All!Jesus died for each of us and his love is great for everyone. He always invites us to get close to his heart but what can he do when he does not want to accept his love? Anything! Love can not be imposed! – In the end the Gospa entrusts them with a mission: I have shown you all this, so that you know that it exists and you tell it to others. 

Then suddenly we came back to Jakov’s house. We came down through the roof and we found ourselves in Jakov’s room!
