By her presence at Medjugorje Our Lady wants to awaken our awareness to the fact that we are engaged in a battle that involves nations, societies and cultures, and every individual residing in them.
In one of the first messages, the Holy Mother said : A great battle is about to take place. A battle between my Son and satan. Human souls are at stake.”
The visionary Mirjana has not only spoken of a spiritual warfare but also physical conflicts on earth. She said: She showed me, like in a movie, the realization of the first secret. The earth was desolate. “and there was upheaval in a region of the world”
Mirjana says that seeing this revelation made her cry. But then Our Lady told her that man brings this on himself because there are too many sins in the world.
The Catholic Church ( Synod of Bishops, 1985, Final Report) says: “We cannot deny the existence in society of forces capable of great influence which act with a certain hostile spirit towards the Church. All of these things manifest the work of the ‘prince of this world’ and of the ‘mystery of iniquity’ even in our day”
Over the years Our Lady has made known that there is a spiritual war taking place. On March 18, 2018 she said: My children, your battle is difficult. It will be even more difficult, but you follow my example. Pray for the strength of faith; trust in the love of the Heavenly Father. With immeasurable motherly love I am caressing your souls.

Today, as the spirit of the anti-christ spreads throughout our culture like never before, it is worth remembering that Mirjana knows the exact date when the first secret will be announced. In an excerpt from her book, Mirjana said: Our Lady appeared to me again and told me the date on which I must give details of the first secrets to the priest. This new knowledge eased my distress and gave me strength.”
Many feel we are getting close to the “decisive moment”, after a clue was revealed on one of the darkest days of the pandemic on March 18, 2020.

On that day Mirjana announced her monthly apparitions had ended and his news was shocking to people who follow Medjugorje closely. After that day, people around the world talk of the pandemic as a sign, a plague, a harbinger of what is about to happen with respect to the secrets.

Our Lady asks us to recognize the seriousness of the moment. We must response to the hour in which we live. “Before the visible sign is given to mankind, there will be three warnings to the world.
The warnings will be in the form of events on earth. The sign will be given as a testimony to the apparitions and in order to call people back to faith.
The ninth and tenth secrets are serious. They concern chastisement for the sins of the world. Punishment is inevitable, for we cannot expect the whole world to be converted.

But Our Lady continues to encourage prayer and fasting: She says: “You have forgotten that through prayer and fasting you can avert wars and suspend the laws of nature.”
