The importance of praying the Rosary

The Rosary remains an unique Marian prayer full of that utmost simplicity as well as depth. How many Catholics resorted to it throughout the centuries! For those who really want to pray it the Rosary is accessible to everyone. From the simplest and most hidden souls to people of great holiness who were always at the limelight, the Rosary has been the prayer which was always present in their lives.

In every one of her apparitions Our Mother Mary always exhorted that we take up the Rosary beads and pray this wonderful prayer. From, Fatima, Lourdes, Medjugorje and you name it, She kept remind us to pray the Rosary on a daily basis. The Rosary brings peace to our families, communities and our world entire. The Rosary has the power to end entire wars!

Most of all, the prayer of the Rosary is deeply connected with great conversions too. The more we pray the Rosary the more well feel the need to pray it. Within itself it has the power to attract us to acknowledge our sinfulness and the need to let Mary intervene on our behalf in order that we start a new chapter in our lives.

Some complain that repetition deters them from praying, and thus reaping the eternal fruits which only the Rosary can give to all those who pray it. The words of St John Paul II answer these brothers and sisters who cannot simply understand the transforming power of the Rosary. In his encyclical on the Rosary, Rosarium Virginis Mariae, an encyclical he wrote in 2002, he said: “If this repetition is considered superficially, there could be a temptation to see the rosary as a dry and boring exercise. It is quite another thing, however, when the rosary is thought of as an outpouring of that love which tirelessly returns to the person loved with expressions similar in their content but ever fresh in terms of the feeling pervading them” (Rosarium Virginis Mariae, 26).

If you are person who always say: “I don’t pray” or “I can’t pray”, now is the time to plunge yourself into the Rosary. The more you pray this prayer the more you realize that your human psychology is calmed and focused as you let the Holy Spirit make you enter deeply into God’s love for you as shown in the life of Christ at the school of Our Mother Mary.

Mary, Queen of the Rosary, pray for us!
