Statue of Our Lady of Medjugorje Stolen by Repentant Thieves is Back on Mountain in Sardinia… Two Mushroom Diggers Find Statue and Return to Police

The owner who had bought the statue in Medjugorje in 2013 brought it to a consecrated area of a nearby mountain.
The police found the statue by two mushroom diggers who reported their discovery of the sacred object. It was assumed the thieves, perhaps repentant, had abandoned it.
The people who found her, both residing in Settimo San Pietro, took her home and cleaned her up, repaired a hand that had come off and placed her in their house.
When they read the news in the newspapers, they realized that the Madonna they found could be the one stolen from Monte Cresia and then they called to the police.
Shortly after, the statue was in barracks in front of the marshals Stefano Locci and Fabio Casarelli and the owner Giampaolo Orrù, 45, of Maracalagonis, who will soon bring her back to the mountains. The police are still on the lookout for the repentant thieves.
