Medjugorje: an invitation to hope

But one thing is certain, that video this morning did me good. As yesterday, a similar video has always done me good, always shot on the Podbrdo hill by my dear friend Mirela, guide of the parish of San Giacomo. It was like breathing the air of Medjugorje, the air of peace, of serenity that is felt in that place where we feel protected by the Mother. And now we need so much to feel His maternal comfort.

In this historical moment in which our personal, family, social life of our whole country is distorted by an invisible, infinitely small enemy , Coronavirus has a size of 100-150 nm in diameter (about 600 times smaller than the diameter of a human hair!), we suddenly become aware of our fragility.

An entire system has been turned upside down . These are the moments when we believers feel the need to trust God even more strongly. And for non-believers it is an opportunity to look up, to realize that man alone is nothing.

People’s reactions

The video is gathering consensus and dissent, as always happens. There are those like me who appreciate the human face of a politician, with all his strengths and weaknesses, who seeks protection from the Virgin Mary; others think that faith is something only intimate and above all a politician should not express it publicly.

And then, there are among the “believers” who consider Salvini not worthy, forgetting that the love of God towards each of us is not a question of merit, otherwise we would all be excluded. But God is Father and loves his children as they are . And it gives everyone the possibility of Salvation.

I really liked the video of Matteo Salvini who gave me a few moments of Medjugorje,  where I will go as soon as this emergency is over.
