Saint Faustina Experienced a Warning from the Judgment Seat of God
Over the last 100 years, the Blessed Virgin Mary has appeared on earth to many people. She has pleaded for conversions and warned of chastisements if we failed to repent.
The future of God’s mercy and justice will start with warnings and preliminary chastisements; that will increase in severity and build up to the universal warning to correct all consciences; and end with the Great Chastisement. This will be followed by the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the New Pentecost, and the Era of Peace, culminating in the Great Renewal of the holy Church, of mankind, and of all creation.
Warnings are calls from God or his prophets to obey, to change, to pray, fast, convert, and repent, or to suffer from chastisements. When God’s warnings are spurned, chastisements follow.
Because of this willful spurning of God’s warnings, Jesus King of All Nations, said, “I have pleaded again and again with my children to repent and be converted, many times sending my Immaculate Mother herself, who is the Mother of All Mankind. How many have listened? How many have responded? Too few to stay the hand of divine justice which is falling upon you. You are reaping the fruit of your obstinate and sinful ways.” (Journal 758–759).
In the 1980s, at San Nicolas, Argentina, Mary said, “You must be warned, children, the plague is big. At these moments all humanity is hanging by a thread. My children, the senseless person is dead, even if alive, because he does not fear the justice of God, nor fears not fulfilling of his Commandments. He wants to ignore the fact that the Lord’s Day and his judgment will arrive. Blessed are those who fear God’s judgment.”
Mary continued, “God’s warning is over the world. Those who stay in the Lord have nothing to fear, but those who deny what comes from him do.Two-thirds of the world is lost and the other part must pray and make reparation for the Lord to take pity. The Devil wants to have full domination over the earth. He wants to destroy. The earth is in great danger.”
Pope Benedict XVI said,“The threat of judgment also concerns us, the Church in Europe, Europe, and the West in general…the Lord is also crying out to our ears… ‘If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.’” Light can also be taken away from us and we do well to let this warning ring out with its full seriousness in our hearts, while crying to the Lord, “Help us to repent!” (Pope Benedict XVI, Opening Homily, Synod of Bishops, October 2, 2005).
Humanity continually refuses to learn from God or to obey him.They killed the prophets and ignored the warnings that God sent to prepare the world to receive his Son. Similarly, many ignore the modern prophets, especially the Mother of God, and the messages that God has sent to warn the world of chastisements.
Jesus King of All Nations warned us. He said,“My children, I do not want to strike you in my justice! I, your God, plead with you; turn back from this dangerous road you follow! I tell you though, if you do not, my pleading will come to an end, and my justice will have to accomplish itself. Your God loves you! Why do you not recognize my warnings in nature? My children, please return to your God.” (Journal 214).
“Until the heart of man changes, the world will not and cannot change. Greater and greater will be the catastrophes in nature which itself rebels against the sinfulness of the children of men. The earth itself writhes in horror at the weight of corruption and uncleanness it supports. It cries out for justice against its inhabitants.” (Journal 372).
Jesus King of All Nations told his Secretary, “I tell you most solemnly, little one, that one of the fruits of this Devotion will be the buying of more time from my mercy in order that souls may be converted before it is too late.” (Journal 303). “Does not the fact that the world still exists speak volumes on the patience of your God? I AM generous, my child, I AM infinitely generous.” (Journal 304). “Once more my Immaculate Mother has obtained the mercy of time for my erring children. Time in which to turn from evils, be converted, and return to me, the all-powerful, all-merciful God who forgives.” (Journal 360).
Divine Mercy and the Universal Warning through the Illumination of All Consciences
In the 1930s, Jesus told St. Faustina, “I am prolonging the time of mercy for the sake of [sinners]. But woe to them if they do not recognize this time of my visitation.” (Diary 1160). The Jews failed to recognize their time of his visitation and were chastised by the destruction of their Temple, as Jesus had prophesied. (See Luke 19:43–44).
Jesus told St. Faustina, “While there is still time, let them have recourse to the fount of my mercy;…” (Diary 848). “He who refuses to pass through the door of my mercy must pass through the door of my justice…” (Diary 1146).
Our Lady told Servant of God Fr. Stefano Gobbi,“The Holy Spirit will come to establish the glorious Reign of Christ, and it will be a Reign of grace, holiness, love, of justice, and of peace. With his divine love, he will open the doors of hearts and illuminate all consciences. Every person will see himself in the burning fire of divine truth. It will be like a judgment in miniature. And then Jesus Christ will bring his glorious Reign in the world.” (To the Priests 383).
This merciful warning, illumination of conscience, and judgment in miniature was experienced by St. Faustina. She wrote,
Once I was summoned to the judgment [seat] of God. I stood alone before the Lord. Jesus appeared such as we know him during his Passion. After a moment, his wounds disappeared except for five, those in his hands, his feet, and his side. Suddenly, I saw the complete condition of my soul as God sees it. I could clearly see all that is displeasing to God. I did not know that even the smallest transgressions will have to be accounted for.
What a moment! Who can describe it? To stand before the thrice-holy God! Jesus asked me, “Who are you?” I answered, “I am your servant, Lord.” “You are guilty of one day of fire in purgatory.” I wanted to throw myself immediately into the flames of purgatory, but Jesus stopped me and said, “Which do you prefer, suffer now for one day in purgatory or for a short while on earth?” I replied, “Jesus, I want to suffer in purgatory, and I want to suffer also the greatest pains on earth, even if it were until the end of the world.”
Jesus said, “One [of the two] is enough; you will go back to earth, and there you will suffer much, but not for long; you will accomplish my will and my desires, and a faithful servant of mine will help you to do this. Now, rest your head on my bosom, on my heart, and draw from it strength and power for these sufferings, because you will find neither relief nor help nor comfort anywhere else. Know that you will have much, much to suffer, but don’t let this frighten you; I am with you.” (Diary 36).
In our Secular Culture of Death, the Secularists live as if God does not exist. They have not come to know of his love for them. They live as if only this world exists and there is nothing transcendent.
Their sins cry out to God to chastise the world. However, God is fair and, in his mercy, he will warn us before he chastises us. He will illuminate the consciences of all peoples so that they may freely choose him or Satan.
During the illumination, they will see themselves, at that time, as if they were at their particular judgment upon their death. They will see their sins as God sees them and their just punishment that they may avoid by their repentance and conversion.
Saint Faustina’s Prayer for the Grace of Conversion for a Sinner
One day, Jesus said to Saint Faustina, “Call upon my mercy on behalf of sinners; I desire their salvation. When you say this prayer, with a contrite heart and with faith on behalf of some sinner, I will give him the grace of conversion. This is the prayer:
O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fount of Mercy for us, I trust in you. (Diary 186–187).
Because all previous warnings have been spurned by modern people and the evils are so great, Jesus King of All Nations said, “I delight not in the suffering of my children. I desire to awaken their darkened consciences that they may recognize their sinfulness and be converted so that there may be a renewal of hearts and minds thereby causing the world itself to be renewed.” (Journal 370).
