Sister’s Lucy’s prophecy of a “final battle” over
marriage and family is “being fulfilled today.”

This column has noted more than once that today we are witnessing the fulfillment of Sister’s Lucia’s epistolary prophecy to Cardinal Carlo Caffarra, clearly uttered in light of the Third Secret of Fatima, that “The final battle between the Lord and the kingdom of Satan will be about Marriage and the Family.”

In an exclusive interview with Corrispondenza Romana (translation mine), Cardinal Caffarra, one of the four “dubia cardinals” who have spoken out against the ruinous effects of Amoris Laetitia, himself confirms that conclusion. After discussing the uniqueness of the Fatima apparitions as a series of prophecies involving the whole world, the Cardinal was asked the following question to which he gave the following answer:

“And also the words of Sister Lucia on ‘the final battle’ were a prophecy?”

“Yes, absolutely. What Sister Lucia wrote to me is being fulfilled today.”

The Cardinal provided some interesting details on how he came to receive the letter. Back in 1981, acting as one of the original members of the John Paul II Institute for the Study of Marriage and Family — the very Institute that Pope Bergoglio is now in the process of subverting  Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia — then Father Caffarra was worried about the negative reception the fledgling Institute was receiving from opponents of the traditional teaching on marriage and family both within and without the Church. And so, he recounts, “Without having asked anyone, I thought: ‘I will write to Sister Lucia.”

His intention was merely to ask for her prayers, because the Institute was literally dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima­ — “to the point that (I hope it is still there today), entering the Institute, at the end of the hallway, there is a statue of Our Lady of Fatima, and the Institute’s chapel is dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima.” A remarkable connection of the Institute to the very prophecy that revealed a threat to its existence and what it stands for.

The Cardinal reveals that at that time, around 1983, when Lucia had been silenced by the Vatican lest she contradict the new party line on Fatima as over and done with, “in order to have any contact whatsoever with Sister Lucia, even by letter, it was necessary to pass through her bishop.” To the Cardinal’s great surprise, however, the bishop not only passed along his letter, but “after not more than two or three weeks I received a response. It was a long letter written by hand,” wherein Lucia revealed that “there will come a time when the decisive [final] battle between the reign of Christ and Satan will be over marriage and family. And those who work for the good of the family will experience persecution and tribulation.”

The Cardinal not only confirms that this prophecy is now unfolding, but even goes so far as to declare that at this moment in Church history “Satan is building an anti-creation.” By this he means specifically an attack on the “two pillars” of God’s creation: the “absolute respect” owed to human dignity, and “the relation between man and woman, which is sacred.”

Indeed, he continues, the “final battle” now underway involves precisely an attack on womanhood via“the legitimization of abortion” and “the attempt to equate homosexual relations with marriage… as if he [Satan] himself were provoking the Lord, saying to him: ‘I will make another creation, and man and woman will say: we like it here much better’.”

This comment provoked the question: “Woman is therefore the field of battle?” to which the Cardinal replied with a reference to the Genesis prophecy of the enmity between the Woman and the serpent whose head She shall crush: “In the Bible there is a detail which has always struck me. After the Original Sin, God confronts the serpent and says: ‘I will put enmity between you and the woman.” God has implanted a particular enmity of the woman toward evil, as if woman has a sort of instinct for the good. The text continues: ‘between your seed and her seed,’ and here the theologians see the prediction of the Son of Mary…”

A fascinating interview that only confirms what was already apparent from this Fatima perspective: that the battle for the Church in this time of unparalleled crisis will be won under the standard of Our Lady of Fatima.
